Now apparently I have to start over my savegame which I have played on for several days. Originally posted by gnelf:I fell down half a meter and instantly died. If they're able to recreate it, then they might be able to do something about it. If you fell down only half a meter and instantly died, I'm sure that the devs would be grateful if you could send a detailed bug report with the location of that glitch. There's not a solution for that other than intentionally sabotaging the permadeath function (every player's perogative, even if I choose not to do it), or for a major change to be made to the game. No game is without bugs, but in games with permadeath it is always frustrating when a bug leads to death (and having to start over). Unfortunately, that's simply the reality of any permadeath game. If you like ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games, then that's cool. I'm all for hard games, but this is just a frustrating game and if the developers put some more effort into the game I wouldn't have died in the first place. Originally posted by gnelf:Excusing glaring issues with the game itself concering bugs and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanics with "it's just permadeath git gud" is stupid. It's not an "easy" game, it does not hold your hand, outside of Pilgrim, which still is not impossible to die in if you screw up. We pretty much all die dozens of times, learning the mechanics, and learning how things work in this game. That seems to be a bit of an overdramatization. 5m will not kill you in this game, in any mode. You can respawn over and over again, or go back to an earlier checkpoint, autosave, or manual save, to try to redo the section over again, differently.Īnd unless you were already on death's doorstep, falling. If you are playing Wintermute Story Mode, you have save slots, that you will/can respawn from, no permadeath. And again, it is how the game is advertised It is intentional and how pretty much all "hardcore" permadeath games work. For more information, see How to Backup and Restore Island Save Data.If you were playing Survival Mode, or one of the Challenge Modes, the game is advertised as permadeath.
